The Partner has been developing an innovative telecommunication infrastructure: about 2500km of optic fiber (ITU-T G.652D standard) the pilot aim is to use this infrastructure to monitor, control and test energy and environment parameters of some public buildings of MMC, such as its headquarter, some schools of its territory. Testing Smart City concept will allow novel applications and services on top of this infrastructure and enhance innovation ecosystem in the Metropolitan Area.

Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) – ESMARTCITY
Politecnico di Milano is the largest scientific-technological university in Italy and will participate in the project with the Dept. di Elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria, including main branches of ICT research and its application. The team has solid skills in monitoring and control of behavior of machines, systems and buildings to evaluate their performance, optimization, prediction and control of energy systems, renewable and storage integration, as well as ICT technologies for energy efficiency / building automation.
