The Partner has been developing an innovative telecommunication infrastructure: about 2500km of optic fiber (ITU-T G.652D standard) the pilot aim is to use this infrastructure to monitor, control and test energy and environment parameters of some public buildings of MMC, such as its headquarter, some schools of its territory.

Testing Smart City concept will allow novel applications and services on top of this infrastructure and enhance innovation ecosystem in the Metropolitan Area.

Milan Metropolitan City focuses on smart energy issues in the city of Milan in order to address energy efficiency, offering innovative applications to citizens and city beneficiaries. It will provide one pilot site in the project in this domain.
