SVI.MED – EuroMediterranean Center for the Sustainable Development – is a non profit organization operating in several MED areas for the safeguard of cultural and environmental heritage.
SVI.MED was born 11 years ago for supporting the processes of sustainable development of the territory, through the active collaboration with the Institutions and the Local and Regional bodies. The mission is the integration of the local processes in a larger vision of development within the Mediterranean space.
SVI.MED can count on a strong network, at national and international level for elaborating and sharing strategies, testing models of development, producing decisional support tools, implementing good practices and transferring know-how.
Recent years have been dedicated to the dialogue at Mediterranean level, with countries with similar origins and problems to tackle both on cultural and environmental related issues.SVI.MED participated in several European projects, in particular on water management related issues, it was subcontractor or partner of the following projects:
– INWATERMAN, Sustainable management of water resources in arid and semi-arid island (Interreg Italia-Malta programme)
– MEDIWAT, Sustainable management of environmental issues related to water stress in Mediterranean Islands (P.O MED)
– SWMED, Sustainable domestic water use in Mediterranean region (Enpi CbC Med Programme)
