  ABREG is a public authority which, along with the State, has concurrent legislative powers that allows it to enact interventions in both the innovation, and the energy and environment fields as well as to realize, implement and monitor the innovation, energy and environment plans and policies.

  It is worth to highlight that, with reference to energy, the region is involved in the Covenant of Mayors Initiative with all its 305 municipalities and the 4 provinces committing thus the whole territory to the promotion, support and development of the production of energy from renewable sources, energy saving and sustainable mobility.

  Focusing on smart lighting in a municipality, its pilot deployment may thus influence the whole territory.
