  LACEC-UTH research activities include environmental physics, particularly greenhouse climate, design of greenhouses and screenhouses and of their equipment, energy saving in agriculture, smart farming, nutrient requirements, uptake and distribution for horticulture crops in closed and open hydroponic systems, management of nutrient solutions of greenhouse closed hydroponics systems.

  
  LACEC-UTH has experimental facilities including automated greenhouses and screenhouses, as well as state of the art measurement devises and fast response sensors for monitoring climate conditions, soil and water relevant parameters.
